I have been told that there is and exception for using R6 ductwork within attic spaces using the prescriptive method with this software. Before purchasing, can anyone validated this exception as the performance method and code dictates R8 for use in attic spaces.
Mark, Florida code states "Supply ducts in attics shall be insulated to a minimum of R-8. All other ducts shall be insulated to a minimum of R-6. Exception: Ducts or portions thereof located completely inside the building thermal envelope."
This is Section R403.2.1 (Prescriptive) compliance rules. Our software will show compliance in accordance with these terms.
