1. The RESNET Std dropdown will need to be changed depending on the permit date, correct? 2022 is for homes permitted 7/1/2025 and later?
    1. A: Yes, that is correct.

  2. Is this required to be filled out now for energy ratings (ceiling tab)? I believe this was there before but it appears it autofills when running the 2022 HERS rating, is that fine?

A: The inputs are not required. If they are not entered, the values default to 3.5, 2.5 and 3.0 respectively. This calculation is required by section 4.2.2.2 of the 301-2022, which became effective July 1, 2025.

  1. It doesn’t appear that choosing the wall color changes the solar absorptance, so we have to change both, correct?
    1. A: The SA (Solar Absorptance) is set in the Rated2022 home based on this table.

The SA is not updated on the Wall page in User Entry mode, however, it can be verified by selecting View Rated House > 2022.

All 6 wall colors are represented in the images below.

4. What color would we choose for garage walls/walls with .01 solar absorptance?

A: Select Yes for Tested Absorptance for homes modeled with HERS 2022.

The SA can be verified by selecting View Rated House > 2022.

Wall SA functions the same with 2019 homes and can be verified by selecting View Rated House > 2022.

5. We’ve never used these options but I remember them being there before – do they affect the rating?

A: These inputs do not impact ratings.
