During HERS calculations and rating registrations error messages sometimes display indicating "n" or "R" are out of range. This provides a description of the values and possible causes of the values out of range.
MULTI-POINT INPUTS IN ENERGYGAUGE
INPUT | DESCRIPTION | MINIMUM | MAXIMUM | OUT OF RANGE INDICATES |
C | air flow coefficient | N/A | N/A | |
n | air flow exponent | 0.50 | 1.00 | This could indicate there was a large hole or opening such as a window, door or attic hatch open during testing. According to ASTM E0779-10, a value less than 0.5 or greater than 1.0 indicates the test is invalid and requires the test to be repeated. |
R | data quality factor | 0.97 | 1.00 | Results less than 0.97 indicate the data points do not fall on the curve. This could indicate testing was performed under windy conditions, may have entered incorrect multi-point values or took the readings without the meter "catching up" with the data point. |
